One of the best finds we have made is Stability stabilizers and my personal favorite is Aqua Adhere. Aqua Adhere goes into your hoop as though it is the fabric with the shiny side up. Then you take a wet sponge and wet the Aqua Adhere. Then just place whatever you want on the Aqua Adhere and it will not move. So you know the corner of the napkin you want to embroider - Use Aqua Adhere! How about the ribbon you want to embroider - Use Aqua Adhere! Or the towel you can not get in the hoop - Use Aqua Adhere! I am sure you will find many uses for Aqua Adhere and you will too become an Aqua Adhere addict like me. By the way you can reposition your item by just rewetting it. Best of all no sticky gets in your machine like other adhesive-backed stabilizers. Yeah!!!

Today a women came into our store, she was complaining that her brand new sewing machine was not sewing correctly. Upon further investigation we found that she was using poor quality sewing thread. There is no way the sewing machine could have performed correctly because the sewing thread was breaking and shredding. Please remember good in good out. If you are going to take your time to create something make sure you use good quality thread. If you have very old thread please replace the thread with new thread. That bargain bin thread is really not a bargain after all it sloughs off and all of that gets into your machine. Be kind to your machine buy some good quality thread so your machine can perform likes it wants for you.

When I used to think of an embroidery machine with 10 needles I assumed that more than one needle would be embroidering at a time. So say there was red in the right corner the machine would be doing that and in the other corner were the green was the other needle would be working on that and say yellow in another part of the design. Well I guess I am not the only one because many people say they thought the same thing. Just to clear this up a commercial embroidery machine only embroiders one needle at a time. A commercial embroidery machine will embroider faster than a home machine and it will change the colors for you but it only embroiders one color at a time.

After being in this business for over 20 years this question has been asked 1,000's of times. My answer: purchase the one you like best. Why do I say that? We have had people that hate canisters and their next door neighbor has a canister so they purchase a canister. Then they tell us that they hate their vacuum. Well of course they do they only bought the style of vacuum that their neighbor had not the one they liked. No vacuum is any good if it sits in your closet and does not get used. So purchase the style of vacuum that you will use. Some styles are better for different situations but a vacuum you hate is no good no matter how it performs.

I can not believe I am writing this. Where did this year go!!!
Christmas is upon us and everybody is scrambling for gift ideas. A great idea for Christmas is to embroider kitchen towels for Christmas. I have very contemporary tastes but at Christmas I love to put out things that have Christmas on them. I have things from years ago that come out every Christmas and I remember who gave them to me. So make a set of Christmas towels for that friend or buy a premade apron (available at any craft store) and embroider Christmas designs on it. Make both for that special friend. Schon Christmas designs are great for this and they are very inexpensive so buy one today and get busy.

Many of us do the same thing everyday without even thinking of a better way to do it. A good example is when we bought our home we went overboard and of course had no money left over. After being in our home for only a few months our dishwasher broke. Because we had no money we went for the cheapest dishwasher we could find. Now this dishwasher was no better or worse then the one that we had before so I thought we did good. Well exactly two years and one month after getting the dishwasher it broke. It needed a major repair. We then looked into new dishwashers. We looked into a Miele dishwasher since we sell the Miele vacuum cleaners and we know how well they perform. We decided on the Miele dishwasher. In the past, even when I was growing up, we always cleaned the dishes and then put them in the dishwasher because if we did not the dishes would not get clean. (I guess they should have been called dish rinsers, since that is all they really did). Well when we got the new dishwasher I was told it would be able to actually clean the dishes. So I put in dirty dishes and I did not rinse them off. Guess what they came out clean. All these years I had been rinsing off the dishes before putting them in the dishwasher and all I had to do was get a better dishwasher. I now know that and I would never go back to dish rinsing again. Vacuums work the same way. Do you have problems with your vacuum not working? Does your vacuum perform inefficiently or do you have to vacuum sections over and over again for anything to happen? If this the case then a new more expensive vacuum would actually perform and last much longer than you current vacuum cleaner. Imagine a vacuum that when you turn it on it performs for you all the time. So yes a more expensive vacuum would be worth it.
