Batiste is a fabric often used to create garments such as baby clothing and blouses, because of its cotton or cotton blend composition and light to medium weight and sheer qualities.
A princess seam is seam, which curves most often seen on dresses, jackets and blouses.
A prick stick is a stitch, which is used on fabric such as velvet where it is difficult to hide the stitch because everything is visible. To make a prick stitch simply create a small back stitch on the right side of the fabric and create the rest of the backstitching on the wrong side of the fabric.
Acetate is a weak shiny fabric, which does not often shrink and dries quickly. An interesting fact is this fabric can be melted with nail polish. Combined with other fabrics Acetate can give fabric a silk-look. Acetate is often used for lining, and has a great drape to it.
